A graduate of the University of Ottawa, Tina holds an Honour’s Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Education & Ontario Teaching Certificate. She has NCCP (Coaching) Level 3 Judo and Level 1 Gymnastics.
Tina is an expert teaching children and adults alike. As a former “football” mom, former Olympic coach, school teacher and over 35 years of teaching experience, Tina has a wide range of experience dealing with every kind of student and has a long track record of success. Tina was also a spokesperson for Sport Ontario’s F.A.M.E. Program (Female Athletes Motivating Excellence). With the help of her husband and sons who have three national level titles (in three combat sports), Tina Takahashi Martial Arts & Fitness holds a plethora of experience and athletic success.
Born in North York, Ontario, Tina started judo shortly after learning to walk at her father’s dojo in Germany. She won her first trophy at age 6 and competed for 20 years.
Our vision for the club is to be a center of excellence for martial arts in Ottawa, a center which allows our customers to explore a wide range of martial arts and their cultural heritages in a comfortable environment.
Tina Takahashi Martial Arts aims to provide the highest quality instruction not only for athletes that have high aspirations but also for beginners that may not hold Olympic type dreams. Helping achieve the goals of our beginners is a well worth endeavour that Tina Takahashi Martial Arts & Fitness is committed to. All levels of experience are most welcome with appropriate programs custom made to suit any fitness or skill level.
Tina Takahashi Martial Arts and Fitness offers courses in Judo, Sambo, Karate, Khun Khmer (Cambodian-Kick Boxing -Muay Thai boxing), Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and traditional Ju-jutsu. With decades of experience under their belt, the school is operated by Tina Takahashi and her spouse, Sean MacFadyen.
